Suntec D 57 C 7372 gear-type liquid oil pump is specifically adapted for fuel oil with a viscosity of up to 75 cSt and for operation at elevated fuel temperatures up to 90 °C. The gear set draws fuel from the tank through an integrated filter and delivers it to the pressure regulating valve. The fuel is then supplied to the nozzle line. Fuel that does not pass through the nozzle is discharged through the valve into the return line in a two-pipe system. In a single-pipe system, the fuel is returned to the suction side. In this case, the bypass plug must be removed from the return line and the return port must be closed with a steel plug and washer. In two-pipe systems, air is vented automatically. In single-pipe systems, air is discharged through the nozzle line during start-up. The bypass hole in the nozzle line coupling allows air to pass through the nozzle line without opening the pressure regulating valve. During the initial start-up, air venting can be accelerated by loosening the pressure gauge port plug. Due to the presence of the bypass hole in the nozzle line coupling, the pump has no shut-off function. The shut-off function must be provided by an external solenoid valve. Models of size 45 and 55 are equipped with a piston featuring a special cavity to prevent pressure build-up in the nozzle and suction lines during pump shutdown caused by thermal expansion of fuel heated by the nozzle line heater.
