An oil nozzle of this type is a precision consumable part that sits at the end of the oil gun, inside the burner’s combustion head. Its function is to atomise the fuel oil into a fine spray cone so that it mixes with combustion air and burns completely. The nozzle is connected to the oil pump via a high-pressure line; the pump solenoid valve controls fuel admission. In an oil burner system, the nozzle works together with the oil pump, solenoid valve, and often a preheater. The ignition electrode or UV/IR flame detector is positioned near the nozzle outlet to ignite and prove the flame. Such nozzles are selected by three key parameters: flow rate in gallons per hour (GPH) or kg/h at the reference pressure, spray angle in degrees (typically 30–80°), and spray pattern (hollow, solid, or semi-solid). The thread size must also match the burner’s nozzle holder. Using a nozzle with the correct flow rate but wrong pattern can cause sooting, pulsation, or unstable ignition. For this reason, all three parameters must match the burner data plate exactly when replacing. Nozzles are not reconditioned; they are replaced on a scheduled basis or at the first sign of flame irregularity. The part number shown here identifies the specific rating and angle for this individual article.
