Molex 24308.45065 connector Mini-fit
Connectors of this type carry low-voltage control signals and, where applicable, mains supply between the burner control board and the system components. The Mini-fit MOLEX series is a common crimp‑type connector used for internal wiring in burners and boilers. Such connectors are matched by their pin count, contact pitch and mechanical keying rather than by the function of the circuit they serve. A replacement connector must therefore be selected on the basis of the required number of ways, the conductor cross‑section (typically 0.5 mm² to 1.5 mm² for signal circuits), the insulation temperature class and whether the terminals are pre‑loaded or need to be crimped separately. The same connector series may appear on gas valves, fan motors, pressure switches or sensors; the part number alone does not indicate where it fits. When replacing a connector of this type, inspect the mating half for corrosion, bent pins or melted insulation. Poor contact in a connector is a frequent cause of intermittent faults that mimic a failed component – for example, a flame signal dropout, a modulating actuator that drifts, or a burner that locks out without an obvious cause. Always verify that the replacement connector is correctly keyed and that the terminals are fully seated and locked. If the original harness is damaged, the entire pigtail or connector housing may need to be replaced; crimp‑on terminals allow the wires to be re‑terminated without changing the whole cable.
