The assembly typically consists of a heat-resistant glass disc held in a metal frame or bezel, with a sealing gasket between the glass and the housing. When selecting a replacement window assembly the main parameters to match are the glass diameter and thickness, the overall outer diameter of the frame, the mounting hole pattern or thread type, and the temperature rating of the glass and seal. The glass must be rated for the maximum combustion chamber temperature the burner reaches during operation. The window should be free of cracks, chips, or clouding that could distort the view or weaken the seal. Any visible soot or carbon deposit on the inside of the glass indicates a burner adjustment issue that should be corrected before a new assembly is fitted. This component is classified under sensor components because of its role in enabling flame detection, but it is not an electronic sensor itself. It is a mechanical part that works together with the flame scanner or with the technician’s direct observation.
