Fluidics W2-225-45 nozzle
The Fluidics W2-225-45 nozzle is an oil nozzle, a precision consumable part used in oil burners. Its function is to atomise the fuel oil into a fine spray so that it mixes with combustion air and burns completely. The spray shape and droplet size determine how the flame sits inside the combustion head, which directly affects ignition stability, combustion efficiency, and emissions. An oil nozzle of this type must be selected according to three parameters: flow rate (given in GPH or kg/h at a reference pressure), spray angle (typically between 30° and 80°), and spray pattern (hollow cone, solid cone, or semi-solid cone). All three values must match the burner manufacturer’s specification on the data plate. Using a nozzle with the correct rating but the wrong pattern can cause sooting, pulsation, or unstable ignition. The thread size and type must also match the nozzle holder on the oil pump or lance. When replacing a nozzle of this class, always confirm the exact rating, angle, and pattern from the burner documentation or the existing part number. Nozzles are wear items: the orifice erodes over time, changing the flow rate and spray quality, which degrades combustion. Routine replacement at the interval specified by the burner manufacturer is recommended. Install the new nozzle carefully, using a torque wrench if specified, and avoid overtightening which can distort the orifice. After replacement, check combustion readings with an analyser to verify that the nozzle performs correctly in the system.
