Brahma CM11U is a microprocessor-based controller (“burner management unit”) from the Microflat series, designed for automatic ignition control, flame monitoring and safe operation of atmospheric gas burners (with or without a fan) operating in intermittent (cyclic) mode. The device is successfully used in a wide range of heat‑generating equipment: heating and combination boilers (domestic and industrial); hot air guns, warm air generators, combi steamers, radiant tube heaters and water heaters; ovens, cooktops, air heaters, infrared (IR) heaters; burners from leading brands: Riello, Baltur, Weishaupt, Lamborghini and others. Main functions and features Manual lockout reset (non‑volatile lockout): The main feature of this model. Under any abnormal condition (no flame, open ionisation circuit, ignition failure) the unit goes into safety lockout. Restart is only possible manually by pressing the Reset button on the housing after the cause has been eliminated. This prevents the burner from starting unintentionally and meets the highest safety class. (Some versions of the CM11U feature an electric reset – restart by briefly interrupting power; check the marking on the housing.) Ionisation flame control: Flame detection via an ionisation electrode based on the rectifying property of the flame. Response time on flame loss is less than 1 second, meeting EN 298 requirements. Important: The device has no protective resistance, so touching the detection electrode is unsafe. Built‑in high‑voltage ignition transformer: Fully solid‑state type, provides reliable ignition without an external unit. Spark voltage – 20 kV at 30 pF load, spark frequency – 25 Hz. Two independent safety contacts in series on the gas valve output, providing redundancy for critical circuits. Auxiliary contact for low‑power ignition or for controlling the main gas valve in systems with intermittent power supply. Important: This contact is not isolated from the main supply voltage by reinforced insulation, therefore it is not suitable for controlling extra‑low voltage (SELV) circuits. High reliability and service life: The controller is rated for more than 250,000 switching cycles under maximum load. Electronic protection: Built‑in varistor protects against voltage surges; Internal fuse protects the relay against short circuits on outputs (valves, fan, lockout signal); this fuse is not replaceable, so it is recommended to install an external fast‑acting fuse appropriate for the load. Compact impact‑resistant housing made of self‑extinguishing plastic. Mounting in any position (on DIN rail or by screws). Protection class IP00 – requires installation in a protective enclosure/control cabinet. Standards compliance: The device is certified according to European directives (CE PIN 0694BR1154) and fully complies with EN 298:2003 for automatic gas burner control systems (classification code AMCLXN). Technical specifications Parameter Value Model Brahma CM11U Article numbers 37050010, 246.124.165 Rated supply voltage 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz (110–120 V version available) Power consumption 2.5 VA (standby) / 7 VA (operation) Pre‑purge time (tv/tp / TW) 1.5 seconds Safety time (ts / TS) 10 seconds Waiting time (tw) 1.5 seconds Minimum ionisation current 1.2 µA (0.5 µA on request) Recommended ionisation current 3–5 times the minimum Ignition output voltage 20 kV at 30 pF load Response time on flame loss 5 µA for reliable operation). The recommended discharge gap between the electrode and ground is 2–4 mm. Lockout reset: When a safety lockout occurs (controller stops starting the burner, red LED lit), find and eliminate the cause (e.g., check gas supply, electrode condition), then manually press the Reset button on the housing to restart. Maintenance: Periodically check the condition of contacts, wiring integrity, and the cleanliness and position of the ionisation electrode. Contamination or wear of the flame sensor can lead to false trips. Operating mode: The unit is designed for intermittent operation. To maximise service life and safety, the system must be forced to stop at least once every 24 hours to perform the built‑in self‑diagnosis. Advantages over alternatives Versatility: Suitable for gas burners with or without a fan, as well as for single‑stage burners of small and medium power. Highest safety level: Manual lockout reset, two independent safety contacts and instant flame monitoring (<1 s). High reliability and service life: More than 250,000 operating cycles, built‑in protection against voltage surges and short circuits. Ease of installation: Built‑in powerful ignition transformer (20 kV), compact housing, DIN rail mounting capability. Italian quality: High‑grade components, strict production control, compliance with European EN 298 standards. Package contents Brahma CM11U burner control unit (art. 37050010) – 1 pc. Quick installation and operation guide (several languages). Note: Ionisation electrode, ignition electrode and connection base are sold separately. Storage conditions and warranty Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature between –20 °C and +70 °C. The warranty period is typically 6–12 months from the date of sale (please check with the seller) provided that installation and operating rules are followed.
