Ionization electrode Baltur B81 — original spare part from Italian manufacturer BALTUR for SPARKGAS 11 series burners. This is a safety system component; without it the burner will not confirm ignition and will lock out. Timely replacement of a worn electrode is the simplest and cheapest way to eliminate false lockouts and restore stable equipment operation. Purpose and operating principle: The ionization electrode is used in gas burners to monitor the presence and strength of the flame. It is installed inside the burner and connected to the control unit. When a flame is present, air ionization occurs and a signal is sent to the control unit, which regulates burner operation. The ionization electrode ensures system safety and prevents possible emergency situations. If during pilot flame combustion a sufficient number of free electrons and negative ions are generated, a threshold device in the burner control activates, allowing the main burner to operate. If the ionization intensity drops below a certain level, the main burner shuts off. The main reasons for ionization cessation are disruption of the required gas-air ratio in the pilot, contamination or burning of the ionization electrode.
