The Fluidics W2-275-50 nozzle is a consumable component used in oil burners to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray cone, enabling complete combustion. Parts of this type sit at the end of the oil line, immediately after the pump and solenoid valve; the fuel is pressurised by the pump and forced through the nozzle orifice, where it breaks into droplets that mix with combustion air. The resulting spray pattern and angle determine how the flame sits inside the combustion head, so correct selection is critical for stable ignition and clean burning. Such nozzles are selected by three key parameters: flow rate (given in GPH or kg/h at a reference pressure), spray angle (typically 30–80 degrees), and spray pattern (hollow cone, solid cone, or semi-solid cone). The thread size must also match the burner’s nozzle holder. Using a nozzle with the correct flow but wrong pattern can cause sooting, pulsation, or ignition failure, so all three specifications must be checked against the burner data plate. When replacing an oil nozzle of this class, always confirm the existing nozzle rating and angle – they are usually stamped on the body. Be aware that nozzles are precision items and can degrade over time due to thermal stress or fuel impurities; a partially worn nozzle may cause poor flame shape even if the flow rate appears unchanged. The burner’s pump pressure setting also affects the actual flow, so a pressure gauge check after replacement is advisable.
