The fuel is then supplied to the nozzle line. Excess fuel that does not pass through the nozzle is discharged through the regulating valve. In a two-pipe system, the excess fuel is returned to the tank via the return line. In a one-pipe system, the excess fuel is internally recirculated back to the suction side of the pump.
