During operation, it gradually degrades, taking on corrosion instead of the steel boiler walls. Replacement should be performed when the following signs appear: Loss of anode mass: During routine inspection (recommended every 1-2 years), the anode is found to have decreased in volume by more than 50% or completely dissolved. Visual changes: The anode is covered with a loose layer of oxides, crumbles, or has obvious signs of deep corrosion. Indirect signs: Deterioration of water heating, unusual noise in the boiler (associated with a large amount of scale that a working anode could prevent). Replacement recommendations Frequency: Manufacturers recommend checking the anode condition at least once a year. In regions with hard water, replacement may need to be performed more often.
