Brahma BT2310 is a microprocessor-based controller (“burner management unit”) designed for automatic ignition control, flame monitoring and safe operation of forced‑draught gas, oil and combination burners. The device operates in intermittent (cyclic) mode and is suitable for both natural‑draught and forced‑air burners. Model BT2310 (art. 18049401 / 246.124.151) is a versatile solution for a wide range of heat‑generating equipment, including: gas and combination boilers (domestic and industrial); hot air guns, warm air generators; air heaters, process furnaces; burners from Riello, Baltur, Weishaupt, Lamborghini and other brands. It can be used with both single‑stage and two‑stage burners. Key feature: low‑voltage power supply (24 V DC) Unlike most burner controls (which operate from 220 V), the BT2310 is powered by 24 V direct current. This makes it an ideal choice for systems with low‑voltage control circuits, mobile or stand‑alone installations, and for replacing obsolete low‑voltage controllers. Connection to 220 V mains is strictly prohibited and will damage the unit. Main functions and features Fully automatic combustion cycle – The unit independently manages the sequence: false flame check → pre‑purge (10 seconds) → ignition → flame monitoring → safe shutdown on flame loss. Ionisation flame control – Flame detection via an ionisation electrode based on the rectifying properties of the flame (UV detection and photodiode are also supported). Response time on flame loss is less than 1 second, meeting strict safety standards. Non‑volatile lockout with manual reset – Under any abnormal condition (no flame, open ionisation circuit, ignition failure) the unit goes into a safe state. Restart is only possible manually by pressing the Reset button on the housing after the cause has been eliminated. This prevents the burner from starting unintentionally while a fault persists. Two independent safety contacts – A key safety feature. The controller is equipped with two independent safety contacts for controlling the fuel solenoid valves, providing redundancy for critical circuits. Remote control – Possibility to connect external signals for remote lockout and reset, convenient when the burner is located in a hard‑to‑reach place. Informative LED indication – A multicolour LED on the front panel shows the current operating status and provides fault codes for quick diagnostics. High reliability – Controller service life: more than 250,000 switching cycles. Standards compliance – The device is certified according to European directives and meets the following standards: EN298:2003 (automatic burner control systems for gas burners); EN676:2003 (forced‑draught gas burners); DIN 4788 (German standard for fan‑assisted burners); EN230:2005 (oil burners); EN 525, EN 1020, EN 1319. Technical specifications Parameter Value Model Brahma BT2310 Article numbers 18049401, 246.124.151 Rated voltage 24 V DC Power consumption 9 VA Burner type Atmospheric / forced‑draught, single‑stage / two‑stage Operating mode Intermittent (must be stopped at least once every 24 hours) Pre‑purge time (tv/tp) 10 seconds Safety time (ts) 10 seconds Waiting time (tw) verify on housing label Response time on flame loss < 1 second Lockout reset Manual (Reset button) + remote reset Base included No (purchased separately) Enclosure protection class IP00 (with base – IP40) Operating temperature –20 °C to +70 °C Storage temperature –40 °C to +85 °C Relative humidity max. 95% at 40 °C Dimensions (W×H×D) 90 × 85 × 65 mm Weight approx. 0.27 kg (270 g) Important: This version (art. 18049401) has a pre‑purge time of 10 seconds and a safety time of 10 seconds. Before purchasing, always check that these parameters match your burner’s factory settings. Do not confuse with article number 18049430 (different configuration). Compatibility and replacement Compatible burners – The unit is suitable for a wide range of gas, oil and combination burners of both single‑stage and two‑stage types. Compatible with equipment from Riello, Baltur, Weishaupt, Lamborghini and other brands. Direct replacement – Article numbers 18049401 and 246.124.151 are identical. The BT2310 can be used as a replacement for obsolete low‑voltage controllers with similar timing parameters (tv/tp = 10 s, ts = 10 s). Accessories – A connection base (Microflat type or similar) is not included and must be purchased separately. The connection diagram is printed on the device housing. Installation and operation Mounting – The device can be mounted in any position. The housing has standard dimensions, making it easy to replace obsolete controllers. Due to IP00 protection class, it is recommended to install the unit in a protective enclosure/cabinet that prevents dust and moisture ingress. Wiring – Strictly observe polarity and the 24 V DC voltage level. Incorrect connection to 220 V will damage the unit. The connection diagram is printed on the housing. Initial start‑up – Before start‑up, ensure the combustion chamber has been purged, the ionisation electrode (or other flame sensor) is correctly positioned and provides a stable signal. Lockout reset – When a safety lockout occurs, find and eliminate the cause, then press the Reset button on the housing. Remote reset is also supported when an appropriate external button is connected. Maintenance – Periodically check the condition of the flame sensor, its insulation and correct positioning. Contamination or wear can cause false trips. Operating mode – The unit is designed for intermittent operation. To maximise service life and safety, the system must be forced to stop at least once every 24 hours. Advantages over alternatives Low‑voltage power supply (24 V DC) – Ideal solution for systems with low‑voltage control circuits, stand‑alone installations and replacing obsolete controllers. Reliability – Service life of more than 250,000 cycles, proven by the manufacturer. Safety – Manual lockout reset + non‑volatile fault memory + double safety contacts meet the highest EN298 standards. Versatility – Suitable for gas, oil and combination burners, both single‑stage and two‑stage. Remote control – Support for external lockout and reset signals for operational convenience. Italian quality – High‑grade components, strict production control. Package contents Brahma BT2310 burner control unit (art. 18049401) – 1 pc.
