Replacement should be performed when the following signs appear: Loss of anode mass: During routine inspection (recommended every 1-2 years), the anode is found to have decreased in volume by more than 50% or completely dissolved. Visual changes: The anode is covered with a loose layer of oxides, crumbles, or has obvious signs of deep corrosion. Indirect signs: Deterioration of water heating, unusual noise in the boiler (associated with a large amount of scale that a working anode could prevent).
