The probe form (immersion length, clamp-on size) and connection method (capillary length, terminal type) must match the installation. A mismatch in switching range could prevent the boiler from reaching proper temperature or fail to protect against overheating. Typical failures include a drifting set point that causes erratic burner cycling, a broken capillary tube, or poor thermal contact between a clamp-on probe and the pipe surface.
