When replacing a pilot supply pipe, check that the end fittings match the gas valve outlet and the pilot burner inlet, both in thread type and size. Also confirm that the pipe is long enough to reach without straining the connections, and that it clears the combustion head and any moving parts on the burner. A damaged or blocked pilot supply pipe will starve the pilot burner and prevent the main burner from lighting.
